50 new, unprimed .308 Win brass cases from Norma of Sweden. Boxer-primed, large rifle primer pocket, drawn to tight tolerances for consistent case capacity. For handloaders wanting a matched batch rather than mixed range brass. Primers, powder and bullets sold separately.

Overview

Norma has been forming brass in Amotfors, Sweden since 1902, and the .308 Win case in this box is drawn from the same 70/30 cartridge brass alloy and run through the same tooling as the primed factory ammunition Norma sells around the world. This pack holds 50 new, unprimed cases, giving a handloader a clean, uniform starting point rather than mixed once-fired brass of unknown history and case count. Because every case in the batch left the same production run, neck wall thickness, web dimensions and internal capacity are far more consistent than fired brass pulled from range pickup, which is the main reason precision and long-range shooters reach for it.

The .308 Winchester itself was released by Winchester in 1952 as a civilian shortening of the 7.62x51mm NATO military round, and it has grown into one of the most reloaded rifle cartridges on the market thanks to its short-action length, mild recoil and the huge spread of bullet weights it handles well, from 110 grain varmint bullets to 180 grain hunting bullets. Norma brass sits at the upper end of the reloading component market, priced above Privi Partizan and Sellier & Bellot brass but generally below Lapua, and most reloaders treat it as a genuine step up in consistency without paying Lapua money for it.

Buyers should note this box is unprimed and does not include primers, powder or bullets — it is raw brass only, ready for the reloader to prime, charge and seat a bullet into.

Key Features

  • New, unfired brass means every case starts from zero fired cycles, so the handloader controls the entire life of the case from the first firing rather than inheriting an unknown case count from range brass.
  • Consistent case weight and wall thickness across the batch keeps powder capacity uniform from case to case, which tightens velocity spread and helps group sizes at longer ranges.
  • Boxer-primed design with a standard large rifle primer pocket lets the case work with the widest range of commonly stocked large rifle primers rather than a harder-to-source small rifle primer.
  • Annealed necks reduce the risk of neck splits over repeated firings and keep neck tension even, which matters for consistent bullet release and velocity.
  • Norma case dimensions are held to tight in-house tolerances, so cases chamber smoothly in factory-spec .308 Win rifles and typically need only light neck sizing after the first firing.
  • The 50-count shooter pack is a practical batch size for load development, letting a reloader run a full ladder test or fill several magazines from a single, matched lot.

Materials & Construction

Norma draws each case from a single brass cup through a series of progressive dies, annealing the neck and shoulder along the way to relieve the work-hardening that builds up during drawing. This keeps the neck soft enough to grip a bullet consistently while the head and web stay hard for pressure resistance. The 70/30 copper-zinc mix is the same alloy used across the reloading industry, chosen because it balances ductility for repeated resizing against the strength needed to seal a chamber at .308 Win pressures. Flash holes are drilled rather than punched on Norma's premium lines, which reduces the small brass burrs that can disturb ignition consistency, and the primer pocket is cut to a uniform depth so seated primers sit at a repeatable height.

Fit & Compatibility

These cases suit any bolt-action, semi-automatic or single-shot rifle chambered in .308 Winchester, including common short-action platforms such as the Remington 700, Tikka T3, Sako TRG and AR-10 pattern rifles. Because .308 Win chamber dimensions differ slightly from 7.62x51mm NATO military chambers, cases sized for factory .308 Win specification feed and headspace correctly in commercial rifles without the extra clearance a military chamber allows. Reloaders will need dies sized for .308 Win, large rifle primers, a compatible powder charge and bullets of the reloader's choice — none of these are included in this pack.

Care & Maintenance

Before the first firing, most reloaders check case length and give the neck a light chamfer and deburr, since even new brass can vary by a fraction of a millimetre out of the box. After firing, full-length or neck-size the cases depending on the rifle's chamber and check case length again, trimming back to the SAAMI trim-to length once it approaches maximum. Inspect the primer pocket after each firing for signs of loosening, and retire any case that shows an incipient case head separation ring near the web. Stored in a dry container away from ammonia-based cleaners, which can stress-crack brass, this alloy will comfortably handle multiple reloading cycles.

Who It's For

This pack is aimed at reloaders who already load their own .308 Win ammunition and want a fresh, matched batch of cases rather than mixed brass, whether for load development, precision hunting rounds or F-Class and target shooting where consistent case volume matters. It is not a finished ammunition product and is not the right choice for a shooter without reloading equipment.

FAQ

Does this pack include primers? No, these are unprimed cases only — primers, powder and bullets are sold separately.

What primer size do these cases take? Norma .308 Win brass uses a standard large rifle primer pocket.

How many times can I reload Norma .308 Win brass? Most reloaders report five to ten firings with moderate loads before neck splits or primer pocket loosening become a concern, depending on load pressure and sizing method.

Will these cases fit my AR-10? Yes, once loaded to correct overall length these cases function in .308 Win semi-automatic platforms as well as bolt actions.
