5. Firearm Licence Tracking
As a convenience for our customers, we offer an optional service that allows you to save your SAPS firearm licence application reference numbers to your account and check their status via the public SAPS Firearm Enquiry portal.

- Your SAPS reference number, firearm serial number (optional) and a nickname you choose
- The status data returned by SAPS (application type, calibre, make, current status, status history over time)
We do not store your ID number or any other SAPS-protected personal information as part of this tracking feature.
5.2 How we use this data
- Primary purpose: to display your application status to you on your account page.
- Secondary purpose: we may use aggregated, anonymised data derived from licence tracking records (for example: total number of applications being tracked, overall distribution of status types, trends in calibre or make selections) to improve our services and inform stock planning. Aggregated data never identifies individual customers.
5.3 Your control
You can view, update or permanently delete any saved licence application at any time from your account page. Deleting a saved application removes all associated tracking data and status history from our systems.
5.4 Accuracy disclaimer
Status information is retrieved directly from the SAPS public portal. We do not control the accuracy, timeliness or availability of that data. Always confirm the definitive status of your application with the Designated Firearms Officer (DFO) at the police station where you applied.

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it, including:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
- Secure payment processing via PayFast (PCI DSS compliant)
